A Silver Portrait in Amsterdam: an old art where times slows down to capture your essence.
The modern form that we practice is almost identical to the processes of the 19th century. We need a lot of time to perfect lighting and camera settings, to find a position and expression that suits you, and for your personal styling. You can witness every step of the process in the darkroom, including the developing stage.
Usually we make two plates, to see what works best artistically and technically.
After the session you choose your plate. If you like to buy the second plate one as well we charge a 50% rate.
All in all, a session will take at least 90 minutes. After the session we need several hours for a superb finish.
To properly protect the plate, we advise you to have the plate framed.
